Benefits of Retention Scholarship 2025
- Winners of the ISH Shipping International Student Retention Scholarship will receive a $1,500 scholarship each semester.
- The award is only available within the calendar year of application and is not continued in the next school year.
- Students must cover their total semester tuition fees and housing (on or off campus) themselves or with family assistance unless they obtain another scholarship to cover these costs.
- Students receiving financial aid from three separate parties need only consider covering a maximum of one-third of their tuition costs through loans.
- It is recommended to check with a national financial management advisor before applying for scholarships or other domestic aid, especially when using funds from foreign governments, other schools, or highly competitive universities.
Eligibility Criteria for International Student Retention Scholarship 2025
- Undergraduates: To qualify, students should have completed a minimum of three terms at PSU in their year and maintain a GPA of 2.75 or higher.
- Transfer Undergraduates; Requirements include being a sophomore, completing one term at PSU, and holding a GPA of 2.75 or above.
- Post Graduate Students; Eligibility involves completing one term at PSU with a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Enrolled Students; Those enrolled at another USCIS-approved institution are also eligible.
- Applicants need to have goals and show satisfactory progress toward their degree.
- Exclusions: The program is not qualified for U.S. Citizens, resident aliens, recipients of U.S. Federal Financial Aid, in-state tuition payers, holders of fee remission awards, and individuals with Employment Authorization Documents (excluding economic hardship).
