Italy Announces 10,500 Job Opportunities for Pakistani Workers

Italy has officially announced 10,500 job opportunities for Pakistani nationals, marking a breakthrough for overseas employment in Europe. The development comes as a result of sustained diplomatic and institutional efforts by Pakistan’s Ministry of Overseas Pakistanis, according to a 24NewsHD report published on December 27, 2025.

A spokesperson for the Ministry confirmed that the Italian government has allocated a dedicated employment quota for Pakistanis, following a formal appeal by Federal Minister for Overseas Pakistanis, Chaudhary Salik Hussain. This initiative is being viewed as a significant step toward expanding legal employment pathways for Pakistani workers in Europe.

According to official details, 3,500 workers will travel to Italy on regular employment visas, while 1,500 positions fall under the seasonal quota and 2,000 under the non-seasonal category. The remaining jobs will be filled through sector-specific arrangements agreed upon by both countries.

Employment opportunities are available in shipbreaking, hospitality, healthcare, and agriculture, with roles such as welders, technicians, chefs, waiters, housekeepers, nurses, medical technicians, and farmers.

Chaudhary Salik Hussain welcomed the announcement and revealed that a joint Pakistan–Italy working group meeting will be held in Islamabad in February 2026. He described the quota as a milestone in opening the European job market to Pakistanis and reaffirmed the government’s commitment to overseas employment.

The minister also highlighted the vital role of overseas Pakistanis in strengthening the national economy and expressed optimism that other European countries may soon follow Italy’s example.
